I have a laptop I'm going to put in the livingroom and a desktop in my office (a room in my house). I'm getting a bluray dvd player for my computer in the office. I want to be able to access the bddvd drive that will be mounted in the desktop over my wireless network and watch movies on my laptop in the livingroom which will be plugged via hdmi cables into a new 60 hi-def DLP 1080p television.
Suggestions or ideas? Mapping or sharing the drive doesn't seem to work the way I'm expecting. I'd like it to show up on my laptop like just another dvd drive rather than like a folder.
Trying to hammer out the details before I get the bluray so when I get it I can just start watching movies.

Both computers are running on vista home premium.

VLC allows you to watch movies over the network. Perhaps they have added Blu-Ray support?

boy does it ever sound like it would be easier to buy a blue ray drive for the tv...you're going to shoot yourself when the wifi gets flaky 3 times in the middle of a movie and you have to troubleshoot.
