Joe Biden: What we're saying is that our tax cut should go to middle class people. It should go to middle class people, people making $150,000 a year.

I don't know if Biden's $150k is about individuals or families. Did he move the goalposts 10 yards or 20?

What you quoted from the PDF refers to the increase in taxes. Not the tax cuts.

The quote about your 150k thing goes like this and refers to tax cuts whose salary caps were never stated by Obama/Biden in that PDF.

Here is video of Sen. Joe Biden saying that under Barack Obama, everyone making less than $150,000 a year will get a tax cut.

How the hell are you not understanding this?

Tax increase != Tax cut

Obama's TV advertisements have explicitly stated that families making $200k will get a tax cut.

Is that no longer the case?

You will need to link these advertisements because I have never seen one personally.

Generally from what I understand though is that no promise in regards to a salary cap on tax cuts has ever been made unlike the tax increase caps. Estimates have been spoken about, but that is it.

wow, are you really not able to understand this?

you, yourself, quoted Biden as saying that "people making $150,000 a year" would get a tax cut. guess what - $150,000 is less than both $200,000 and $250,000. there is nothing inconsistent in his/their message

The most important part to understand is that none of these figures are "thresholds" as you are labeling them as.

Yes, the man is trying to give as many people from the bottom up as much help as he can. However, there is a threshold on the tax increases.

Why would Biden use the number $150,000 to define the middle class now when his running mate previously used the numbers $200,000 and $250,000?

I plugged in 150-200 from your link and it showed a $1300 cut. 200-250 showed an $800 cut. Do you have any links that don't contradict your point?

This was from last week:

http://kimberly.blogsforvictor...cut-from-250k-to-200k/

Obama ad detailing the $200k tax cut value. And from the 2nd debate:

OBAMA: I want to provide a tax cut for 95% of Americans. If you make less than a quarter of a million dollars a year, you will not see a single dime of your taxes go up. If you make $200,000 a year or less, your taxes will go down. Now, Sen. McCain talks about small businesses.

Hmm, there goes 1/4 of the tax cuts that Obama's been campaigning on....and he hasn't even been elected yet.

nothing about obama's plan has changed.

try going to the source rather than parroting someone else's misrepresentations/lies about obama's plan. i'm not going to hold my breath, though.

So Joe Biden doesn't agree with his own source, eh?

Joe Biden didn't say anything in that video about the threshold between tax cut and no tax change.

What he said:
"Under the old tax policy that was put in by George Bush, people making an average of $1.4 million a year ... are going to get an $87 billion tax break. What we're saying is that $87 billion tax break doesn't need to go to people making an average of $1.4 million, ... it should go to middle class people, people making under $150,000 a year."

That does not preclude tax cuts for people making between $150,000 and $200,000 a year.

Really; I couldn't get any tax cut in the $200-250k range, or even $100-150k if you file as single.

Of course, his calculator, his website, his ads, and his running mate say 4 different things.

Lets face it, your taxes will go up no matter who is elected and no matter what they promise. Someone has to pay for the big government. The only difference is by how much your taxes go up and if welfare increases. If Obama, your taxes are going to go up way more ('share the wealth!'), and welfare will increase (cleverly disguised as tax cuts). Under McCain your taxes would go up, but not as much.

ok. keep trying to stir up controversy by declaring your willful incomprehension of Obama's tax policy and inability to type in 6 digit numbers to Obama's tax calculator. i'm sure you're swaying many people with your compelling arguments.

Wrong.

Ya no kidding.

Poker, if you want to sell cheap crystal balls to people with no justification then I am sure you can find yourself some at least a little air time for an infomercial around 4:00am somewhere.

Ding, ding, ding, Ladies, and gentlemen, WE HAVE A WINNER! History has proven this time, and time again. If a nations economy worked well from the bottom up, as Obama has stated he wants, and not from the top down, than Mexico would be a shining beacon in todays world.
You can, "hope", for your "change", and your handout all you want, but in reality, YOU WILL PAY MORE!
