The scammers like Art Laffer and Stephen Moore who got it through in Kansas are now moving that freak show to Washington DC. You see, rightwingers tell us states are the laboratories of democracy, but when their lab experiments fail, they refuse to learn the lessons.

Anyone have the details of these tax increases? Last time I heard talk of raising taxes it meant taxing the poor and or middle class more.

Just like liberals on gun control, they will state that they didnt go far enough and that's why it failed. No one wants to admit their idea was bad.

So the Republican orthodoxy failed miserably in Kansas, who would have thought sever austerity and tax cuts would result in a shit economy for Kansas folks?

The spin will be that it needed more time and its the fault of the evil teacher's union it didn't get more time. So we need to roll it out nationwide now.

Trickle down is like a religion to the right at this point it is an economic policy to be pursued in spite of the evidence it doesn't work.

Thank you!

This is what responsible and reasonable government looks like. Plenty of compromise. Brownbacks plan on the other hand...

The conservative wing of the GOP primaried many moderates out of office with Brownback's support before they were able to push the cuts through originally. It took the moderate wing of the party finally getting their shit together to begin to unwind this mess.

Empirical research shows that gun control is effective at reducing homicide rates, showing it is an awfully good idea:

Now we have even more empirical evidence from Kansas that the conservative blueprint for growth is ineffective.

I propose that in both cases we follow the evidence.

This is genuinely good news. Yeah, the Koch Brothers basically view tax policy as a hobby and it is sad how much voodoo economics has taken over the GOP. It used to be before Reagan that the GOP would insist on tax increases to balance the budget.

It works great for the true Bush constituency, the people who finance the Repub Party & a myriad of right wing organizations influencing the media.

They have so much money that it ceased being about money a long time ago. It's about Power.
