Tricked by Lenovo!

I have been patiently waiting for my new T400 to arrive (Lenovo is slow to ship). On Saturday morning I got a shipping notice email and got really pumped that I would have my computer within the next couple of days. Yesterday, the doorbell rang, and a UPS guy was at the door. He handed me a small package that clearly said Lenovo all over it. Turns out they shipped the additional power supply that I ordered with the laptop...

I guess I still have another week or so for the laptop.

Hmm, I just received a shipping notice today that was earlier than predicted too. I didn't order any additional power supply or anything like that. It doesn't seem to indicate whether or not it is a whole or partial shipment..

Back when I ordered my T60, it also was shipped early with no warning. Luckily I was home when it arrived for my signature.

Guys did you order by credit card, and did they send you a confirmation of order. I've got a receipt of order saying they received my order but its not a binding offer. They've taken the money from my credit card though. Was it the same for you gusy? I'm going to call them tomorrow

BTW, I am kind of pissed. I got my T400 on Friday and it worked great...for a day. On Saturday afternoon it started randomly turning off and restarting. No warning, no blue screen, just off. It got progressively worse, to where now it will only stay on for about a minute before shutting off again. I did a full OS factory re-image, but the problem didn't go away, which means this is a hardware problem.

I'm glad I paid for an extended warranty because it not only does it extend the length, it makes them pay for overnight shipping both ways. It sucks so bad though getting a lemon like this.

I don't think your extended warranty helps here. Since they shipped you a defective product, I'd bet they would replace it and pick up all the shipping, with the regular warranty.

I think that he is happy about the overnight shipping rather than any charges that he may or may not have incurred.

OKAY apparently they have returned the money to my mastercard (after charging it initially), is this a problem or a common occurence?

Wanted to update this thread based on my laptop repair. While I was pissed that my new laptop was a lemon, Lenovo's repair service is awesome.

I received a box at noon on Tuesday, packed the computer in it, and called DHL to pick it up. They arrived at 3pm to start the overnight shipping process. The next morning (8:30am) I got a call from the repair center saying they were replacing the motherboard and that it should be sent out later that day. Sure enough it arrived this morning before 9am. So, the complete turnaround time from the customer service phone call to having the repaired laptop back in hand was less than three days. It was only out of my possession for ~40 hours. Pretty good.

Build quality is good. Much better than the Dell Inspirons that I usually use at work. The computer is a little bigger than I wanted, but I jumped from 13" to 14" because of the higher screen resolution.
