Funny story about the wingman. I was at the club a few monthes ago and I went w/ a friend who always like to drink too much and sit there silently and not do anything. So we walk into the club and I'm like you're gonna be my wingman right? I need an Iceman not a Goose. Goose dies halfway through the movie. So anyways, he ends up gettin so drunk that he stands there and I'm sittin there givin him the peptalk "don't pull a goose man, Goose dies, I can't have my wingman dying in the middle of the movie...be like slider or Iceman" While I'm doing this a couple girls walk by and go that's awesome..we love top gun and so we ended up talkin to them the rest of the night. Worked out pretty alright...

You would have gotten laid if you sang for them. :)

have to sing "you've lost that lovin' feeling" ;)... have to sing it badly, too. :p

Actually...funny story about that too. I did that exact thing to ask a girl to prom. Had like 20 guys walk in with balloons with will you go to prom with me erica and my boy matt goes up and we do it exactly like top gun.

Anyways, I've been wanting to pull it at a bar just as a joke with a video camera or something but no one will do it with me:)

heh, i'd do it, but a 18 year old inexperienced wingman aint gonna fly too well :p heh

The wingman is crucial..I've been helped out by a wing man on may occasions when the wingman "Jumped on the grenade"

but many people think thats the wingmans only job, which it is not...

it is also his job to protect u if you steer off course...

I've jumped the grenade myself many a time. Proper respect and Wingman rules dictate free alcohol for me as a result. But still ... nasty.

The point though is that the women won't shut the hell up. Who wants to sit there all night listening to some chick yammer on about everying and anything?

Isn't there a whole series of these commercials? I think I remember one about a nudist colony activities director and one about metal detector on the beach guy.

I love these commercials too. Seeing as how I was attached throughout college (started dating my girlfriend, now wife, my senior year in high school) I was ALWAYS the wingman for my single friends.
