Tribes 2 System Requirements - Ouch Radeon in a lower "class" than Geforce1?!

Hmm if you have a Geforce 1, Geforce2, Ati rage 128 (wtf?), or a diamond viper 2 minimum cpu is 300mhz.

Yet if you have a Radeon, TNT, V3, etc... minimum cpu is 400mhz. Now what's with that. I was thinking more along the lines of GF1 DDR, GF2, Radeon in 300mhz bracket. But down with the v3 and TNT? That hurts! And what's even wrose is the Rage 128 is in with 300mhz requirement??

At last bracket is v2, v4, v5 (ouch), Kryo and stuff at 500mhz CPU.

That's really weird... this damn Radeon better run it well and it seems system requirements are always way lower. Take half-life. It was like P133mhz, 24mb ram, 3d card recommended. Hah yeah right have fun.

All I really wanted my Radeon to run was Tribes 2... I better be able to play smoothly at 1024x768 even!

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Most minimum requirements are absolutely ridiculous and totally inaccurate anyway. Just download the demo first and try it out. I suspect the Radeon will do just fine.

Well to me it seems system requirements are too low usually. I'm still gonna buy it the day it comes out though. It will run okay on my system just I'm hoping it will run good at something like 1024x768x32 details maxed.

Its prolly a typo. They obviouslyt switched the Rage and Radeon around. Radeon should be with the GeForces cause it has a T&L unit to help out the CPU. All the cards w/o T&L will need a faster CPU.

Min CPU (400Mhz) : TNT, TNT2, Radeon, Matrox G400, Matrox G450, Voodoo 3
Min CPU (500Mhz) : Voodoo 2, Voodoo 4, Voodoo 5, Kyro, Permedia 3.

ALSO NOTE: The Voodoo 3 has a lower threshhold CPU than the V4 & V5 because its drivers handle texture swapping better.


Hmm... so according to them a Rage 128 is better then a Radeon and a V3 is better then a V5?
My, if you believe that listing a Rage 128 must absolutely destroy a V5.

With listings like that I sincerely doubt they are even remotely accurate. Try the demo, I bet the Radeon does perfectly fine.
Consider those listings as being a joke because there is no way in hell they can be considered realistic.

Yeah.. according to those stats you could probably get by with a 200mhz and a Voodoo 1.

I think someone was wasted when they did those or just did them in a hurry. Something's not right, but I never pay attention to minimum/recommendeds anyway

LOL, I'll bet they write a bunch of different system components on a dartboard and whichever ones the darts land on are the minimum requirements.
