so everything is cooking with the tri setup...again, it's awesome but i am having a weird problem.

i have a 30" dell and a 19" hooked up to the 7900gtx via DVI and the other 19" hooked up to another vid card (8500gt). The 19" hooked up to the 7900gtx is really bright and washed out. don't know why. it has the same brightness level setting as the other 19".

anybody ever hear of something like that? Could it be the monitor? I will test different cables/ports/etc

Since you got two 19" monitors there, just swap their connections to see whether the error moves with the connection or stays with the monitor. Troubleshooting 101 ;)

Ha, sorry i have been posting on so many forums i forgot to mention my troubleshooting steps.

1. switched the dvi cables
2. switched the graphics card
3. reinstalled monitor driver

all to no avail. for some reason the one monitor stays bright and washed out. i just have never seen a monitor problem like that--is it common? hopefully they have another in stock so i can return it and try another one.

If it were a CRT monitor, then the symptoms (way too bright, totally out of focus) indicate a dying high voltage circuit. Never saw anything like that on an LCD.

But yes, since you've already made sure it's the monitor, it's time to return it.
