Greetings,

I hadn`t been in Windows 98SE for a week or so and I restarted me computer and selected Win98 as usual, to find this:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following file is missing or corrupted: D:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\DISPLAY.SYS
There is an error in your CONFIG.SYS file on line 1

The following file is missing or corrupted: D:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\COUNTRY.SYS
There is an error in your CONFIG.SYS file on line 2

The following file is missing or corrupted: D:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS

The following file is missing or corrupted: D:\WINDOWS\DBLBUFF.SYS

The following file is missing or corrupted: D:\WINDOWS\IFSHLP.SYS

C:\>mode con codepage prepare=([850] D:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\ega.cpi)
Bad command or file name

C:\>mode con codepage select=850
Bad command or file name

C:\>

Cannot find WIN.COM, unable to continue loading Windows

C:\>
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(without the "----"`s of course)

I cannot recall making any changes which would have caused this. Any ideas? I had quite a bit of stuff in there.

My setup BTW:

x2 IBM 40GB's

Drive #1:
C:\ = 1GB FAT32
D:\ = 3.5GB FAT32 Win98 SE
E:\ = 6 GB NTFS Win2K Pro
F:\ = 6 GB NTFS WinXP Pro
etc.

Drive #2:
M:\ = 10 GB FAT32
N:\ = 20GB NTFS

XP and Win2K load up just fine.

Thanks!
