I haven't watched much Daily Show lately. Even during the end of Stewart's years. But I have this week.

And I like Noah. I think he has a good delivery and pace. A worthwhile successor to the great John.

He is his own thing, but that's just fine. Go Trevor!

Trevor Noah is the worst thing that could have ever happened to that show. I watch it occasionally just to see if he has changed from being a complete moron... Every time he makes sure to disappoint.

After going 2 entire whole episodes with 0 laughs... not even a "heh" that's when I realized the show was done for. It's only a matter of time.

I like him too. I don't watch him regularly, but every now and then when he's Trending on YouTube, I'll watch his stuff.

He has improved some, but he was the wrong choice. The weird thing was he was a complete outsider who got promoted to the top spot. And then all their senior people like Bee, Oliver, Wilmore left.

I've been over the Daily Show for a while now. IMO it is basically Fox News for the Left. It is comfort food. And it has this background machinery in place too.

Indeed.

Samantha Bee was good in her first initial episodes. She has gone downhill since, bit still nowhere near as bad as Trevor Noah.

John Oliver has been kicking ass and taking names. I watch his shoe every week and I wish it was more often. He does the occasional PC story, but he never centers on it. Definitely a class act.

Love John Oliver. But he has his flops. Noah is doing just as OK at the least.

Noah jumped the shark tonight when he called Ann Coulter a Nazi. Ann Coulter may be out there, but folks gotta stop comparing US politics with the Holocaust and insulting the 20,000,000 killed by the Nazis.

he occasionally makes a decent point, but he's not usually funny.

Samantha Bee makes extremely good points and is never funny.

Seth Meyers is horrifically unfunny and usually doesnt say anything intelligent.

The first Daily Show after Trump won the election was so dark and over reactionary. Noah message was basically "Trump will be rounding us up for the concentration death camps in the morning, try to have a good nights sleep." There was no satire or comedy whatsoever in his show that night. He and several guest said they were actually scared, as if electing Trump turned our democracy into an evil dictatorship and destroyed The Constitution, civil rights and freedom entirely.

I can't stand either side of the political spectrum when they lie to try and win an argument. Kill them all and let the Flying Spaghetti Monster sort them out.

Seth Meyers has been fire this year. His "closer look" segment kills it night after night.

I catch some here and there when I'm waiting for the next show up or bits from commercials. Eh, he seems pretty meh, but I haven't really cared too much about the Daily Show for years and without a pretty significant change wouldn't be that interested in it. They're not really going to be able to top the comedy of horrors that our government is these days, and what they do add isn't funny enough to make up for the serious nature that political discourse is forced into these days.

He has improved some, but he was the wrong choice. The weird thing was he was a complete outsider who got promoted to the top spot. And then all their senior people like Bee, Oliver, Wilmore left.

Considering how regularly you post blatantly in line with Fox News stuff in P&N, I'm guessing you were over the Daily Show around what 1998?

I think you mean discomfort food? That you're making that comparison straightly, and seem to intend it as a knock on a literal comedy show compared to an entire "legitimate" news network...

Granted I don't watch all of his show, but what flops has he had? He's been pretty on point with his show that I've seen. I really think he's already surpassed Stewart on the Daily Show (and he did that under Obama, who to say the least, does not provide the near constant fodder for such that we see with our current and previous Republican administrations). They're more concise and on point with their criticism (they get more into the nitty gritty about the topic), but they manage to not become boring (Stewart on the Daily Show often would when it got to anything too in depth, I just don't think he could juxtapose over the top comedy with the more serious aspects that well; he could play off sound bites well though).

Seth Meyers has been fire this year. His "closer look" segment kills it night after night.

Are they on Youtube by any chance? If so I'll check them out despite not really find much of anything Seth Meyers has done as being especially funny or insightful (might be wrong and maybe he's written shows that have, but anything with him in front of the camera, he's like a less obnoxious Jimmy Fallon).
