Treo 600/650 users

about to pick a treo 600 up and was wondering what kdin of apps/games you had on there?

also what all do you use your treo for?

thanks

Are you getting a good deal on one? I'm looking to get one, but am just waiting for a good price. (current plan with verizon)

Treo 650 here, no particular order:

Use it to check mail
IM
web browse
yellowpages
check flight times
find directions
look at maps
schedule events in calendar
write memos
set up alarms for tasks
read/write word and excel docs
play MP3s and stream Shoutcast
oh, and I use it to call people.

I have a lot of stuff loaded on it, I use ChatterEmail the most.

edit: forgot my fav, pTunes for MP3 and shoutcast streaming 😉

get a 650. the screen clarity is so much better.

i use mine for mostly games and chat. 😱 i have a few other apps on it (ssh, for example) that i use as well. i'm also very big on driving directions, and apparently you can even get a good version of google maps on it.

you'll be happy with your purchase plus the selection of apps, games, and just about everything else you can download. 😉

Why are you getting a 600? If possible you should get the 650.

better resolution
blue tooth
replaceable battery

are the improvements of the 650.

I use it for my work email, and browsing the internet on the train. Its not too bad, I still need to get more programs for it.

i won't use bluetooth really. i'm getting a good deal on one, plus i don't have 300+ to spend on the 650.

Oh, forgot to add that there are a few free SSH progs that I use. It's great when you don't have to pay for something like that 😉

mytreo.net has good recommendations on apps because of the rating system.

I have on my 600:
AIM
BestBuy
BlackJack
Blocks
Calc
ClockPop5
Converter
Crosswords
filepc2pda (transfer files from desktop directly to your palm)
FileZ
FlightStatus
Gem Heist
MMPlayer (for movies, this rocks)
MovieRec
PalmPuke (funny app)
PilotMines
Prison
PocketTunes
Solitaire
SoundRec
TCPMP (free media player - pretty good)
Technician (for MP3s as ringtones and other tweaks for phone features - awesome app)
TipMe
Today
Xiino (alternate web browser)

I also bought Pocket DVD Studio (pqdvd.com) which converts any dvd to a small avi file you can play with the aforementioned media apps. If you know your way around VirtualDubMod, then you can do it for free. Keep in mind the 600 isn't as powerful as the 650 and cannot really handle vids above 15fps. That's an option you can set in VDM. I wrote up a quick guide here.
