This is a "knockoff" of the popular D-Link DIR-655 router. Usually it goes for around $100. Now, it is on sale for $75, which is not hot, but reasonable. However, you get a FREE TRENDnet TEW-621PC 300Mbps Wireless N-Draft PC Card with it.

Not a bad deal if you need both a Wi-Fi router and a laptop Wi-Fi adapter.

Combo

I don't think so, it just has the same hardware. Firmware and management system is different, but because it has the same hardware it's expected to perform as dlink 655.

Quoted from Trendnet TEW-633GR Review: A DIR-655 clone for the frugal:

"Internally, the TEW-633GR contains the same main components as the DIR-655?namely a Vitesse VSC7385 switch, a Ubicom 5160 processor, and an Atheros 5416 baseband/MAC chip and AR2133 3x3 MIMO 2.4 GHz radio (AR5008 series).
...
After running the TEW-633GR through the test suite, I created a table pitting it against the DIR-655. The results in Table 1 show a virtual dead heat between the two routers. Seeing that the routers use the same basic hardware, the slight differences in results might be due to the firmware implementation.
"

Further research indicates that it is a rebadged U-MEDIA WRT-390U (which does not seem to be available in the US). Related to WRT-390U is also SMC SMCWGBR14-N:

"I ran the 14-N through our usual router tests and updated the table comparing it to the DIR-655 and TEW-633GR. The results in Table 1 again show very similar performance, with slight differences more likely due to measurement accuracy than product performance."

BTW, the price is up to $85, so it's not really a deal anymore. The Wi-Fi adapter is available at Buy.com for $25, so it may not be worth your time trying to sell it on eBay if you have no need for it.

I wonder how soon we will be seing simultaneous dual-band routers in the $50 price range.
