I have two of the TRENDnet TEG-S5g 5-Port Gigabit GREENnet Switches on my home network. I have tried to access them via a web browser and IP address. They want a Username & Password.

Does anybody know the default ussername and password for these switches?

Can these switches even be accessed?

just an IP within my home network. 192.168.116. I know nothing about switches so I was not even sure if there was something to access.

sounds like there is nothing there. correct?

Correct.

Switches operate at layer 2, simply forwarding frames based on their mac address table. They do not need an IP address to operate. You would use the IP address of a managed switch to change advanced options (VLANs, QoS, Trunking, etc), but none of these are available in the TEG-S5g.
