For 20 years Dede Koswara lived covered in warts with huge tree-like growths encasing his limbs.

Today Dede, whose plight was highlighted on the Telegraph website, can once more use his hands and walk without pain.

He can see the outline of his toes for the first time in over a decade after medics cut more than 4lbs of warty horns from his legs and feet.

He really does look like a tree.

Edit: I searched for it, piss off. ;)

Reminds me of the curse that gypsy put on the crooked judge in Stephen King's Thinner. Damn that's gotta suck.

The tree man and the face eating tumor are probably the grossest things I have seen in a long, long time.

I really feel sorry for them.

I need to go home and hug my kids.

Seriously. It's not even possible to imagine what it's like to go through that.

Whoa.

That's crazy. We really take our immune systems for granted........

We would all be mangled and diseased without it. And dead.

I'm curious though. I'd like more specifics on his immune disease. Is he sickly, in general? Or is it only a certain type of immune cell that would have an impact on fighting HPV, but perhaps not more normal threats like cold and flu?

What do you get if you put the tree man and the ax-man in the same room?
