I'll be in D.C. next weekend, and I am wondering what can I do in the city after dark. I'm a college student looking for entertainment. I'll be sight-seeing during the day, but I have no clue what to do for fun at night. Are there any areas where I can find some cheap drinks and other fun stuff to do? What about some good, cheap restaurants?

There's plenty of cultural diversity in the D.C. area, so there is plenty to do. As I don't live there I can't recommend anything specific, but when I visit my brother there's always something fun to do.

If you're a hockey fan, you should try to get tickets to watch Jagr (oh, and the rest of the team too :D) while you're in DC.

Yea Georgetown is great at night. Another place you could go is Adams Morgan. Look at Washingtonpost and the weekend section, which should have plenty of ideas for what to do around town.

i live in downtown washington, dc. ditto everything mentioned above (especially reading info on the washington post web site). georgetown and adams morgan are the two big bar/club areas. dupont circle is another. with limited time, those are the three places to visit to find everything from cheap to swanky.

have fun!
