Traveling ps3

Here goes!
I know nothing about gaming, ps3’s, wii’s, etc.
Can a ps3 be moved from one house to another?
My grand daughter likes to play a particular game.
My thought is bringing the console here so she could play and then taking it home when she leaves.
I have no idea if the game is plug in cartridge or internet type. I have high speed internet here.
By moving the ps3 from one to another location I assume every time the console is moved the internet connection has to be redone for each location.
Am I right?

If it's wireless internet yes you have to reconnect to each wireless network each time and each could have their own different set of passwords.

The games are installed to the console itself, so even if it came from the PSN, you should still be able to play it without an internet connection.

If it is a game with online multiplayer, that is a whole different situation oviously. And you definitely need to have it connected to the internet every now and again to download updates.

Taking a guess and hopefully making it easier to connect the ps3 to the internet can I use the ethernet connection and it will fly??? Meaning no setup as per the wifi connection, etc.

Oh,,, I think the console is a ps2 (not ps3 as I mentioned in my first post) and hopefully that won't make a difference.

If its a ps2, not 3, then virtually every game is disc-based, so you simply plug it in and go. Theres a few, but when I mean few I really mean that.

PS3 is really when the games became more stored on the hard drive and played online.

Yeah, PS2 will just require a place to plug in for power in the wall and a tv to plug into.

Also PS2 shouldn't require any kind of internet connection, most likely.
