Traveling by oneself in Europe?

Sometime next year my company is sending me to the company headquarters in London, and I was considering using vacation time afterward and go around to some other locations in Europe as well.

This past summer I traveled around with six others and had the time of my life, but a lot of it was due to having others around that made the trip so great. Are there any locations in Europe that would be enjoyable just by yourself? I've been to most of the major cities/locations already, and was hoping to try something new..

Cefalu, Sicily. I spent two months backpacking around Europe and that place was by far my most favorite. You can hik up a mountain overlooking the town and see some old castle ruins that were used by Normans, Greeks, Romans, etc. Sicily in general is a must-see, I didn't have a chance to see the south of the island but heard it was just as good. Also Sicilians are very cool people in general.

Also, San Sebastian, Spain. Look at pictures and you'll understand why. Lots of Australians there as well so you won't have trouble meeting people.

I actually did go there right before going to Pamplona for the running of the bulls. Great town. I'm a huge fan of beaching during the day and then partying it out at night..Lagos, Portugal was another such town.

Visit the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. Very cheap and very beautiful 🙂.

Is it very English friendly in these places like the Western countries are?

I've been only to Prague but I was able to find enough people who knew English to get along fine.
