constant traveling sure doesn't sound like R&R to me, but good luck

I'd skip Mt Rushmore and make sure you see everything in Yellowstone. Nature > man made carvings

I would say scrap spending much time at the Grand Canyon and spend some time at the other Canyon parks. Bryce, Zion, Grand Escalante, Arches, Chaco.

Go backpack into Supai falls. Spend a few days in Sedona enjoying the vortexes.

Spend a 4-5 days in the Redwoods in N. California in Del Norte County and enjoy the tallest trees on earth and amazing coast line.

Most of the parks you have selected are very busy with lots of tourists and lots of buses. While Yosemite is awesome, Lassen National Park is 90% as epic and has 5% of the visitors.

I think that after really looking at a schedule and mileages I definitely agree that its too much for my timeframe. I am considering doing Zion and maybe some surrounding parks and redwoods+Yosemite area. Might take a detour to San Diego to visit some friends but will probably cut most cities (I really wanted this trip to be more for hiking anyway. I am considering my options and may fly in somewhere close to Zion and fly back from SF.

I'm going to skip the GC as I'll be out in Vegas in august for the spring mtn corvette school anyway... So I can extend that trip. And it looks like I have a high probability of being in Portland for my next project... So I'd have plenty of time to hit everything I want to see while there.

weather is a crapshoot but the cascades provide a huge rainbreak. you could be in Yellowstone or Glacier, for example and then run for Olympic National park when the weather allows. See it and Rainier and run back to Glacier or Yellowstone when it turns sour.

If in Portland; then it is a easy weekend trip down to the redwoods.

Wife and myself were there when on project in the Bay area - went up for the weekend.
with two pups - loved it.
Only disappointment was the "waterfalls" that we were expecting we dribbles. :(
Dogs were confused by figuring out how to mark a redwood

 for Zion, San Diego, SF, GC, Vegas, and Portland. :)
