i want to bring my laptop on my upcoming europe vacation but I dont know how I'll power it, and I am leaving thursday so I dont have time to order anything online... i need an ac adapter that is compatible with the voltage and plugs in france, the netherlands, germany and other european countries..

anyone know if u can get something like this somewhere like a fry's electronics or other store that I could find in Dallas (where we are flying out of)?

Valhalla1, Staples has this "universal" set of power plugs that cost about $100.00 for the whole set. Take in mind that this set comes under their 30 day return policy if you're not happy w/ it :)

Actually you might try the return trick also at Wal-mart and you won't have to front as much money because, I'm pretty sure you can grab just one adapter:cool:

The internet cafe scene is pretty well set up there...and the entertainment just keeps on coming. When I went, I barely thought about computers at all

mos tlaptops have a universal ac adapter for 220 or 110 volts. all you need is a new cable (lots of laptops just have a cable with a prong at the end, with a figure 8 connector on the other end)

well on my laptop's ac adapter, it says 120-240 volt, but there is no switch or anything, will it automatically adapt to europe power? also aren't the plugs there different, so would i need some plug adapters ?

All you need is a plug adapter. You can get one at Radio Shack for about $5.

RTFM!

Just kidding :p Yeah if there is no switch then it probably senses voltage automatically. But it wouldn't hurt to check!

Most laptops have auto-sensing adapters that will run on any voltage specified on the AC adapter. You will need the plug adapters so that you can actually plug the laptop into the wall.
