Travel Situation in Asia in August

Hey guys, has anyone been to that part of the world in August? I'm thinking of going for 2-3 weeks in maybe Thailand or Phillpines, Malaysia.

1) Is it high or low season? Or does it depend on the specific region?
2) How is the weather? I'd rather not burn to death w/ heat.
3) Overall, is it a good time to go?

Thailand is hot and rains a lot. More tropical rain so tends not to be a whole day.

I was in Thailand 2 times in August. Both were 1 week stays. Its very hot and it rains at night. The good part is most tourist don't go to Thailand in August, so it should be cheaper. and much less crowded.

Are you going with friends, or family?

1. Low season
2. Yes. It gets very hot.
3. I liked going at that time. No long lines, and beautiful hot weather.

If you're going for the bar girls you'll have your pick! Same with Lady boy.

Its not peak of summer in SE Asia in Aug

OP: As others have said, its the rainy season.

Tropical rain belt; wet season for the tropical area North of the Equator is Apr-Nov, and opposite for the South.

IMHO, it would make more sense to go south and explore Central and Eastern Indonesia that is South of the Equator, if you have your heart set on traveling in SE Asia in August.
