I haven't been home since September 9th. I am at least flying to my home State tonight but I have another eight days before I'll get to sleep in my own bed. I've literally eaten out every meal of every day since I left the house on the 9th.

I'm not sure how people do this year round. o_O

Go to Cracker Barrel. They make you feel just like home.

I hear that. Years ago I wanted to be an airline pilot, and that 'suitcase' time turned me off.

I did 5 trips in 4 weeks in August and September.

Only one was for work, and it was still a killer. When I was younger, the travel thing could have been fun, but now I'm happy to be home.

I dislike work travel very much. So I agree.. its for the birds. Company tries to save a $10/night by putting us in an older Comfort Inn instead of a newer Holiday Inn Express. They really have no consideration for the sacrifices that get made by the employees that travel.

Traveling for business is a young mans game. When you no longer look forward to it, it's time to do something else. When I was a 'yout,' I delivered cars to dealers and rental companies that were too small to have their own transports. You'd be surprised at how many there are. I made it to 26 before I was ready to do something else.

I've been doing that quite a bit actually but there's only so much salad a man can eat! :)

I anxiously awaited getting rid of my previous desk job in favor of my "dream job" which involved continuous traveling. Though I am well aware that I won't be able to tolerate this forever. During my breaks I now look forward to doing sweet sweet nothing where as before I used to find every opportunity to go on a road trip on my breaks.
