I am thinking if I should leave the car in the hotel and take subway/train or if that is possible to drive around in the city of chicago?

so how's the parking situation in there?

I am going there tomorrow from NY

Parking is ~$18 for all day around downtown, give or take a few bucks. But the public transportaion is all very well done in Chicago. You might have a bit more of a conumdrum if you're going in from the Chicagoland area ('burbs) and plan on taking the public commute option, but it still shouldn't be a problem.

Depends on how far out you go, but Corn. Lots and lots of Corn.

one the side, the Jim Beam national HQ is here out in the burbs (apparently), so that might be a hoot if you're a Whiskey drinker.

there's always Abbot Laboratories in North Chicago
btw, "North" is a little misleading. It means 40 miles to the north of chicago proper

Honestly, everything cool is in Chicago, imo. Good food, good drinking, awesome museums, awesome music. Can't go wrong.

The parks are pretty cool, especially Millennium Park. Make sure to hit up the Museum of Science and Industry too. As for parking, don't bother. Take the L\subway and buses.
