I have gotten so much spam I can't take it anymore! I just signed up for a new ICQ number 15min ago and I already got spam!! :| WTF? More proof that AOHELL sells your info!!! :|:|:|

Isn't there an option in ICQ that will only let you accept messages from people on your contact list?

yep... it seems as it went all downhill after AOL got involved. i guess that is how they make ppl use AIM instead. no spam on aim so far...

Yeah, there's definitely an option to only receive messages from people on your contact list. I was getting a ton of spam and it was pissing me off, so I fiddled around, found the option, and I haven't gotten any spam since.

It's under the Security and Privacy Permissions section of the Main button. You can choose to only receive messages from people on your Contact List.
