Transposing SD cards

I have 2 tablets with SD cards inatalled. At the time, I had to install them in the opposite tablet I wanted the different capacity card in. I now want to swap the cards. Am I going to be able to do a simple copy of content folder to desktop and paste applicable folder to card for designates tablethe? Or is there some particular thing I need to do? For android devices if that matters.
