Happily, I've never had to work inside one of the ports since DHS took over security for them.

I've had to dredge in them over the years, but the last time was before 9-11.

Most of the refineries are requiring it now it seems...

so many certs needed anymore to go to work...sigh $$$

I just applied for it. I work at the DOW plant in Louisiana, you are REQUIRED to have it by Jan. 13th.

Ah, OK...I haven't been in the refineries since about 97-98.

Refinery shut downs are a GREAT place to make money...7-12's...about $3500-$4500/week.

I have several coworkers that have to get them. The great thing is that this means my boss can't spring any last minute trips on me since I don't have a twic card.
