Transparent windows/menus in Windows2000?

A while ago I remember seeing something where you can make menus and windows (i think) in windows 2000 transparent. I've searched in many places and I see people talking about it but no pointers to the actual resource. I'm not talking about using windowblinds or anything like that, I think it was a registry tweak or something. Was it all just a dream?

I'm sure it's entirely possible. Windows 2000 supports transparent/lucent elements. BUT, it can be terribly slow for complex objects.

Go search for Transperizer on Betanews.

The interface is awful and it's not particularly easy to use, but it will make all windows and menus transparent and you can change the level of transparency.

Only problem is that it makes your system run like a real dog......slows everything down massively. My 933 with 320MB of RAM and a GeForce 2 GTS feels like my old P2-300 with a Riva 128....:Q

Give me a PM if you can't find it.

I know with WindowsFX the interface is easy.... just doing the menus is fine.... but even on my 1Ghz doing programs was hell.
