Transmission torrents vanish

I noticed that every now and then when I download a torrent with Transmission, the data does not actually go anywhere. It shows up in the list as completed but when I look in the download folder it's not there. I like to occasionally change the download folder to one I create with the name of the month so it's easier to sort through stuff, so it seems to happen for the first couple torrents after I've changed it. it wont go in the old or the new, it just goes nowhere. If I look in Inspector I clearly see the path it's suppose to be in, but when I look there, it's not there. Why is this? Where is it actually going?

Could it be somewhere in /tmp?

Have you attempted searching for the 'lost' files? That will tell you where they are hiding.

Or using something like lsof to see what files the bittorrent process has open.

I managed to find the file, oddly it's still sitting in "incomplete" but yet it's marked as completed. This is odd.

Did you change download directories before it was completed?

Not that particular torrent but I have done it to others, and seems that's mostly when all hell breaks loose. But the effects can be felt even after. Should I be restarting the app after changing the folder?
