I have an 05 Buick Terraza (Chevy Uplander with makeup) that has 126k on it. A couple months ago, it started a very hard shift after coming to a stop at a red light or stop sign. When you accelerate, it would shift hard.

I took it in shortly thereafter for a flush / fill / filter change. No improvement.

Recently, on the way home from a long trip, it started to be a little slow shifting on kickdown when climbing hills.

So, took it to a transmission place today and they said it had the P1811 code and they want to do a full rebuild for $2800 with 2 yr / 24k mile warranty.

I've never really had transmission issues in the past, so am a little ignorant here. You guys think that sounds right? Fair price?

Price sounds high to me...? Also would for sure take it to a couple more shops as what your getting now is what most shops like to say (complete rebuild when they dont know for sure whats wrong)...

I would bet for that price you could get a brand new trans from the dealer and installed...? Check into that if you get the same answers on a repair or rebuild...
