Transmeta to BUY AMD :0

Well, I first spotted this MSNBC story on http://www.shugashack.com talking about the possibility of Transmeta buying AMD.

http://famulus.msnbc.com/famuluscom/reuters09-07-212234.asp?sym=AMD

<< "Their IPO should give them a market value sufficient to buy AMD and they're already walking like they're going down a path that results in a merger," Enderle said. >>

Hmm a Transmet/AMD merger? What the hell, they're going to have to make a killing once they IPO to offer AMD enough money. I just don't see this happening.

If I'm not mistaken, once Transmeta does the mezzanine filing this should[/l] hint how soon they'll IPO??

At least this would somewhat explain why Transmeta bought back the rights to manufacture the TM parts from IBM and Toshiba. They want to use AMD's facilities.

However, I don't really think that TSMC would IPO high enough to buy out AMD. Although I would like to see it happen. Stranger things have happened. My company (EMC) spun off another company called McData (MCDT) that IPO'd at $28 about 3-4 weeks ago I believe. Now look at it, $99.5. 🙂 wish I owned some of that...

Heck, I want to own a part of Transmeta after it IPOs and is low enough. Anyone have any predictions how much Transmeta will initially sell at?

I remember watching the live webcast they gave at the beginning (or was it at the end of last year?) and some reporter asked when/if Transmeta would IPO. All they were doing was revealing details about their first two products and someone's already asking about IPOs.😉 I think a lot of people are really anxious to get in early with Transmeta stocks.

i doubt that AMD would be purchased so readily.

transmeta and AMD do have a technology sharing agreement going...

Wow... think of the AMD/Transmeta offspring..

A really effing fast chip, that takes very little power and throws off very little heat.

Ok, so enginering doesn't work like breeding.
