The bottom says 'Tadjikistan' in a phonetic spelling of Tadzhikistan in Tadzhik language transcribed in Russian
The top part says smth about 'Squad of .... ' - I have not figured it out yet. Probably Tadzhik language transcribed in cyrillic as well

Let me get back to you

the middle part means "Death" in Russian.

Silva says: battalion, "cercadian" or something that sounds like that, and the tajkikstani part as mentioned early "smirch" (phonetic) means death

No, it doesn't.

The middle word means 'Tornado' if read as is.
If your friend is correct, then it means 'Death', but in Tadzhik, not in Russian. Seems fit.

n/m the rest. Saw your edit.

Yeah, she says death in Russian; but of course, it isn't Russian. Also, the ending is different.

phonetic, she's saying "Smertj" = death (Russian), but that the word in the badge looks more like "Smerch."

We both figured death, with the skull and all.

From another forum:

Batalyon = Batallion

Makhsus = Special

Sarhad = Border

The "i" at the end of the word is a joining suffix, so "Special Border Batallion"

The little tail on the "kh" turns it into a softer "h", and the little tail on the "ch" turns it into a "j", thus "Tajikistan".
