Transitions lenses

Are Transitions lenses for glasses worth the extra money? I didn't get them the last time i got glasses because they were like $200 more expensive but lately I have been noticing the sun a lot more and I'm thinking it would probably be a good idea.

I used to have them but didnt' get them on my last pair of glasses. Now I regret it. My next pair will have transition lenses.

I primarily use sunglasses for driving. Transitions don't work in the car, do they?

According to this faq, they may not be suitable for driving.

Guess I'll keep my clip-ons in the car. I'm not worried about UV because my glasses have 100% UV protection already.

I like just having a pair of regular glasses and a pair of prescription sunglasses.

guess thats the route i might have to og then. i can probably get in on one of those deals where you buy 1 paor of glasses and get a 2nd free or half off or something.

i have had a pair for the last couple years and i like them however i dont like how i look physically with the tinted lenses.

i think my next pair will be a pair of regular glasses, and a pair of sunglasses.

That's exactly what I did. Got a pretty good deal. Or you can try one of the online places.

If you lucky and live in Europe, you can easily get very good trans-lenses that do work indoors, cars included.
Here, this "invention" hasn't arrived yet. Trans-Lenses will only work outdoors with direct contact with uv rays.

mine do. though i admit they do not really get dark enough to be any use. wish i would have gotten the clip on sunglasses.

though they are great when outside and it gets really bright. they will change and i won't notice until i go indoors.

but i have to admit next pair of glasses i get will not have it. i will purchase the clip on sunglasses

Automotive glass tends to absorb some UV rays and that is why Transitions lenses don't get dark in your car.

But folks, please buy lots of Transitions lenses! (This keeps me and my peers employed).
