Transition to Comcast Network...

I currently have Comcast@home for my ISP. Now I recieved an email about a week ago saying that I would be tranferred over to the Comcast network. Now this is fine but I got a question. When they transfer people over, will their service go out for a while? I ask becuase my service has been down for about 6 hours now. Im kind of pissed because Im stuck using this 9600bps connection that Verizon is trying to pass off as DSL. Im literally only getting about 10kbps down. Its horrible!

The cutover took place last night. All that SHOULD have to occur is a renew of your DHCP info. You must be set to obtain all info from DHCP (IP, DNS, Gateway).

In my area it looks like someone screwed up on the DHCP server. I got my new IP, but no DNS or gateway info. So I know who I am, but can't talk to anyone.

i use Comcast@home also ... i never get any emails because i dont use their stupid @home email accounts... ive tried 3 times to get comcast to send me email to another account and they always say its no problem, but it never happens... from the last time i talked to comcast, they said in the switch their may be brief outages, but nothing should be prolonged

Yah, I've got to try tonight, but I don't think I'll have time, so it's tomorrow night. I do want to find out how to get mail, etc. from them only because it seems to be the way they contact us (north Jersey). I'm still annoyed about the silly CD with their spyware, though.
