Transition Glasses

Thinking about getting these... do they work pretty good? I don't want to be inside my house and have it start tinting the lenses.

I have never tried them, so I'm not going to vote... but I have heard that they do work pretty well from both my Father and my girlfriends Grandfather... both love them... And from what I can tell, they work pretty good (They never look tinted while inside)

My little borhter has them and he wears them all the time, no problems.

I've repeatedly asked about them from my optometrist. He says they're ok, but you won't get the full protection from UV rays compared to wearing sunglasses. If you're indoors, and the lights are particularly bright, they will darken a bit, as well. My friend had one of those and it looked like she wore tinted glasses in class.

Personally, I still want to get a pair of glasses with Transitions lens, though. I mean, I don't have prescription sun glasses, so something is better than nothing, IMHO.

My brother uses them. They seem pretty cool. He has never complained about having any issues with them. Except that they were kinda pricy.

I grind and process Transitions lenses but I like the Sunsensor stuff except for its impact resistance material(very brittle stuff). The UV stuff is no better (or worse) than any other reputable brand of sunwear. But Transitions has a great product...

My glasses are transitions, yet in really bright sunlight, I wear clip on shades so that when I go inside, they aren't so dark.
In overcast days, they work well to prevent the glare from being annoying.
I like them.

I've had transitions lenses for a year now, I like them. it's only UV light that makes them darken so indoors shouldn't be a problem. I have them in these cool titanium frames that have no hinges, the side parts just bend back from the lens. very flexible.

If I might ask, how much were these lenses compared to those lightweight, coated, plain lens?

my mom and a few friends have them

only complaint is that they are pricy

my mom got them in india for US$115, though

I care about my fellow ATOTers so much I went and found the bill. frames 245, transition lenses 178, crizal 75, polycarbonate something 50. I only paid $199 thanks to my medical plan tho.

I just got them.
They turn dark very fast if u walk out into the sun; however, when u go into a dark place (indoors) it takes FOREVER for the tint to go away. Therefore, it looks like you are wearing shades indoors;i do not like that.

i'm wearing them right now, pretty nice. Kinda expensive but it's for my eyes, so i don't care how much i spent on it
