Personally Im a little freaked out. ;)

I didnt really think about it til I was reading Weezergirl's thread
It was about some Korean gal that got a lot of notoriety cheering for Korea in the World Cup.

It turns out Shin Mina (or Mina for short) got a music deal which the thread was about. One of ATOT's members mistaken thought she was another Korean gal Harisu, who apparently was a guy turned into a chick and has gotten a lot of press because of her good looks.

I personally thought how can you be mistaken Mina for Harisu because Mina is a pretty damn attractive Korean
gal. So I did a little searching on google using "Harisu photos" as the entry. First link pops up and has a little bit
of an article about Harisu. From her own photos Harisu is a hella attractive Korean gal in her own right. I personally can't believe this since in my head I keep saying shes a guy but my eyes deceive me other something.

Sure yea the photos could be air brushed and photo-shopped to hell but shes a woman from the outside as far as Im concerned. I honestly cannot tell shes was a guy. Heres an article on Harisu no pics though Apparently in Korea Harisu has been on magazine covers and even has a cosmetic commercial. And thats what freaks me out not being able to distinguish between guy and gal and how far technology has advanced in this area.

There are pics of Mina in weezergirl's thread since the majority of the ATOT members that replied to it dont keep up with Korean pop culture. So basically no one had any idea of who Mina was. Im not gonna provide links to Harisu picks since I would like to be a sensible mature discussion about the topic.

I cant even imagine the crazyness this would cause if this was prevalent in society. Im not saying this is wrong or I dont like I just think its wierd ;).

Jon Varley wrote several SF novels and short stories that dealt with gender identity, set in a future with cloning, gender changes and mind transfer / mind backup (like in 6th Day). In one story a person ends up having sex with a different-gender clone of themself that shares their own memory / personality.

I think it must be a very difficult situation to find yourself in.I can't imagine what somebody goes thru even contemplating a sex change procedure.

I think it's ok if that's really how someone feels. When I was really young and before I knew any gay people I thought that was freaky, too. So I suspect if I knowingly meet a trangendered person, I would come to respect them more. I probably do[/] know some transgendered people.

I wouldnt have a problem either with meeting trasgendered people. But god forbid someone getting into a long-term relationship with their SO who is transgender and not be told of it. But again who knows maybe in the future people might not be able to tell inside and out. It could be another situation where love crosses all boundaries even sex when they're not homosexual.

If we assume we are all born with the equipment we need, but as we mature we discover that the equipment we have doesn't fit what we are inside then we may need to have things adjusted. I suppose there is a possiblity that we can be born male/female on the outside and be opposite inside... A naturally occuring statistical abberation. And if you have the b*lls (or not ;) ) to change yourself to what you feel is right then so be it!

I've run across a couple of transgender(s), they're an emotional mess, and a physical mess after the surgery...

Sounds like a Jerry Springer episode.

I know 2 transgendered people and they are decent people. The blonde one is actually fairly attractive and quite passable. She knows I am not gay, but she keeps trying to get into my pants anyway. :Q

Follow the money. Lots of happy body shop doctors/surgeons. Lots of pool payments and car payments made from all that cash flow.
