How much you wanna bet, they'll produce the action figures from this and they'll be as big a hit as they were in the 80's....

I hope they don't ruin it.
I rewatched the original movie a few days ago, and it was still as amazing as ever.
One thing I didn't remember was it's set in 2005, so now is the perfect time to pick up a copy of Transformers: The Movie to watch :D

To bad Megatron want be a gun for this, got to be able to sell the toys to kids.

I hope this turns out well and stays true to the Generation 1 series. Also I hope they get some of the original voice cast to return. I know some of them are dead now, but at least get Prime and Megatron.

This is incredible. Who would have thought big Hollywood players would be producing a giant robot movie for the biggest box office period of the year?

Hollywood has definitely turned "geek" over the last few years (and its making a ton of money doing it).

That would pretty much ruin the movie if you change what the main characters are.

Let's make Megatron a flower instead of a gun. And Optimus Prime will be an environmentally friendly Toyota Prius instead of a tractor trailer. And all the robots hug each other instead of fighting.

No thanks.

Well its also the reason Megatron couldn't be released in the Toys R Us reissues. He had to be made a certain color or not look like a real gun.

They will probably make him a Tank, or something similar. Although I'm hoping for the Generation 1 gun I doubt it will happen.

Why not keep Megatron as a gun but just give him some exaggerated features so that it doesn't look as realistic as the old toy? Or maybe make him similar to Galvatron?

I hope they use the voiceover artists from the original 'toon such as Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime and Frank Welker as Megatron..etc. Unfortunately if Jazz is a character they'll have to find another actor to provide the voice as Scatman Crothers died many years ago.

I hope for the best as I'm sure with Spielberg and Bay this should have a budget and maybe the CGI will look great.

It's the advances in special effects. Now they can make these types of movies pretty realistic.

I think a live action CG transformers movie may look a tad cheesy. Just MHO, I would prefer it to be animated.
