Transformers: $ or flop?

I don't think Bernie Mac has a leading role. Like Cedric the Entertainer, he can't carry a film but he's pretty good as a secondary character.

I'd think the fact that it is being directed by Michael "Pearl Harbor" Bay is a greater indication of potential suckage than Mac though.

It is what it is though....summer popcorn flick.
 
I love transformers and I saw the original movie in the theaters when I was little. However, a remake like this is doomed to suck. Hollywood will definitely screw it up big time. They have already injected all their stupid hollywood studio sensibilities into the movie and have changed lot's of material facts about the individual characters.
 
I think it will definitely see huge first week numbers, judging by the trailer. Whether it will actually be good or not remains to be seen. I will see it for sure.
 
I will go see it. but then again im not expecting anything better then the movie that was out in the 80's heh
 
I might not go over well with people who don't accept the changes in teh characters. Such as me.

Other than Optimus Prime, Starscream. the charactes no longer resemble the cars they once did.

Bumblebee is now a camero. Jazz is not a pontiac.Brawl who was part of the combaticons is now a single character. Frenzy is no longer a little guy that works for Soundwave.

Soundwave doens't look to even be written in the story.

At least he voice of Optimus Prime will be same still.

Most movies based on graphic novels are upgraded to the current time. And most have their storyline completely ignored and replaced. X-Men was probably the worst at that, but it was still rather enjoyable despite being a fan.
