Just because they aren't making any more discs doesn't mean people have no use for them. There are plenty of HD DVD players out there still.

It is a good deal, especially if you did get a HD-DVD player (or xbox 360). You can't even get a DVD at that price.

Of course I'm going to stay away from the HD generation until a BR burner costs $50.

Xbox 360s don't have HD-DVD players in them. MS sold a separate HD player that CONNECTED to the 360 but that's it.

Its funny, they still have newer movies coming out on HD. I was surprised at some of the movies they have. I also picked up The Searchers for 4.99 plus shipping, on HD DVD. They Xbox HD Dvd drive can be had for about 39-49 dollars. It works great as an upconverting DVD player, and I can plug it into my computer and rip the HD DVD's to my HD.

Sorry for drifting a bit off topic here... but I was under the impression that the 360 upconverted DVDs anyway w/out the HD drive. The DVDs look noticeably better in my 360 vs. my normal DVD player and PS2, but maybe not as good as true upconverting would offer.

Looks even better on the HD DVD drive, than on regular 360 drive. It does a better job up converting.
