Transformer 2 News - Anything?

Crazy that this will be out before the Nexus. Launches with Honeycomb, I guess. But at least I get one device called the Prime...

In a tablet, you get more area to spread the battery over, so you can make it thinner.
 
I can't wait for the Transformer 2 especially if it's the same price as the original. I've been putting my Transformer (1) through some use lately and it's really a joy. No real complaints. It especially makes for a useful kitchen companion when I am cooking. I just leave it on the counter and I am able to look up recipes, check conversions, etc.
 
OK, note that 11/9 is the official announcement, not the actual ready-for-sale launch. So it won't beat the Nexus to market, though it could tie...
 
I was going to pick up a tablet a couple months ago, and this is the very reason why I waited. Buying this on launch.
 
I don't know if there's some contractual agreements in place that require the Nexus to be the first ICS device released, but if that's the case and I were Asus, I would wait so that I could launch the Transformer 2 with ICS.

Why not? You have everything that's packed into a phone in a tablet, except you have far more space to spread things out in. You don't have to stack the battery behind the board if you design it right. Phones have a screen stacked on a board, stacked on a battery, etc. Given similar hardware, there's no reason a tablet SHOULD be thicker than a phone as long as you're not wasting space.
 
Just a warning that accessories support is pretty limited, even from asus. I've been waiting months for a simple desktop dock on my TF but still no word about a release date.
 
I'd stay away from the Thinkpad Tablet. Review I looked at (think it was engadget) said while the tablet itself was ok, the stylus wasn't worth it and compared to the Transformer it was "meh". I'm waiting for the T2, buy the keyboard and voila, I'll be able to replace my 2yr old netbook with it.

Oh, that makes sense. In that case, the only thing left is to find out how soon it's going to have ICS on it (if it came pre-loaded they would have already mentioned that as much as they could).
 
A 15 hour battery life should be interesting :O. Imagine when tablets can go for a few days without charging. Although solid 15 hrs of video playback / internet surfing would be amazing, I think if it can reach 11-12 hours of heavy use or better with less use, TF2 will shake up the tablet market again. My best friend is a supervisor at Best Buy and says typically people either buy the Transformer if they play around with it or an ipad, and the rest are sold rarely.

Asus shook up the netbook market, and the first asus netbooks had tiny screens + keyboards and mediocre performance, but their followup generations seemed to improve each time.

I feel that ASUS has the ability to put out a mediocre-to-good initial product, listen to most of the cons, and then improve upon it with every successive generation. This will most likely be my next Tech purchase, probably a Christmas gift to myself.
 
Why does everyone assume Asus should play by Apple's schedule? If Asus released a Tegra3-powerer Transformer in Q4 2011 it would blow away the ipad2 and any other tablet sky high, and would reign unchallenged for at least 4-6 months before the competition could answer. Not only would it provide a "halo effect" on their other products, but it would give them a head start in the new generation of tablets, and we all know what a head start means after seeing Apple's sales numbers.
