Transferring text messages from old phone to new one?

I'm about to upgrade from my HTC 8525 to a Fuze, and want to transfer my text messages over--would it just be a matter of transferring all 1524 files from the windows\messaging folder on my 8525 here to the new phone? Or is there another step involved since I'm going from WM 6.0 to 6.1?
