Just got a bigger WD Raptor 150gb to replace its much smaller sibling, the 37gb.
What'd be the least painful way to transfer/clone the entire disk/data (OS including) from the little one to its much bigger brother?
FYI: I have Acronis Image 9.0. The OS is Win x64.
What inside the current 37gb is the OS and all essential installed drivers.
I've already made a bootable cd rom from AI 9.0 .
I've also made an entire 37gb (c: drive) disc back up to another internal HDD (f: drive).
Can I just pull the 37gb drive out and pop the 150gb drive in there?
Then reboot the system with the cd bootable disc.
Run format the new hdd.
Run restore from f: drive, using AI9.0 bootable cd to the newly formatted c: drive.
Reboot the system.
Done!
Would it work?
