Transferring from ipod to itunes?

hi,

So i have a dead hard drive on my hands. After setting up the new OS (win7), what is my best option to copy over my songs from the ipod where they still are, to the empty itunes library?
I know that apple doesn't let you do this easily with a built in utility...
