Transferring Files From Desktop to Laptop

I have several files I want to move from my desktop to my laptop and all are several gigs big. I don't have a dvd burner or an external hard drive. I already tried to user NetworkActiv but that doesn't seem to be able to transfer files that big (I usually end up getting a corrupted file). Is there anyway I can move these files to my laptop?

Get a 3.5"-2.5" hdd connector.

unless his laptop has a spare harddrive slot, I'm not sure if this would help him.

I would do the following _

get a crossover ethernet cable and directly connect your laptop to your desktop, share the folders on the desktop that you want to copy over to the laptop --- then access those from the laptop and copy over what you need.
