Transferring files betwen two MacBook pros

I want the one that finishes first. I don't care about maximum thoroughput. I want the one that is quick and the average transfer speed will be higher.

connect them both with firewire then on the one you want to take files from, turn it on and hold "T" It will pop up on the other as an external hard drive. then click and drag.

FW800 is going to be faster I believe unless you have cat 6 cables and a gigabit switch. or cat 6 cross over.

With newer systems you don't even need crossover cables anymore. I hooked my MacBook up to my Hack with a simple straight thru cable and it registered at gigabit and sent the files down the line at speeds exceeding 100Mb (80MB/s I think it was... the write speed of my laptop's hard drive)

I tried Gigabit using a straight thru cable and it was really slow. I canceled it and used FW800 and it took like 5 minutes for a 8GB file.
