Transferring email, docs, etc. to a new laptop

Getting the wife a new notebook for Xmas and I need help getting her critical files from her old machine; I know how to backup her email and docs and such, but is there a quick and painless way to do all that? Both machines will be running Win10 Home, and I'd like it to be up and current when she first fires it up, so any help you all can lend would be most appreciated. Thanks!
 
Ah, sorry, shoulda done my homework first. A quick search on Microsoft's site sent me over to Laplink, who offers a free util (PCmover) for just such a task. Any other ideas or suggestions are still welcome.
