I am currently at Quinnipiac University. What kinda GPA would I need to have a shot at NYU stern, transfering after 2 years. I have an internship setup for this summer in NYC, and I also plan on joining some business clubs next year. My HS gpa was only about a 3.0 and SATs were 1220. Any help is appreciated

uhh what is your college GPA?

It better be close to 4.0.

I have a 3.82 at a relatively well respected business school and I don't thin I would have a shot at getting into Stern.

i went to Quinnipiac. I just graduated from there in fact, with a degree in a finance.

Well my friend applied there during his junior year with minority status, and well... he got accepted BUT he'd have to enter has a 2nd semester freshman as a senior at QU.

Very few courses get credited over there I guess.

I wouldn't worry about ivy leagues right now. If you are really serious about going ivy league, graduate school is the time to shine. Get some experience and I say constantly study the GMAT study guides till you can achieve a 700 to get into stern/columbia MBA.

ya, my bad.. nyu isn't even ivy, but it's up there. Your just as likely to get accepted at an ivy league if you can get into nyu.

Ivy league schools are probably twice or three times harder to get into than NYU.

how much is it anyway? on the site it said tuition $31k and room/board $11k. is that 11 included in the 31, or is it $41k? Quinnipiac where I am at now is about 35

Ouch to say the least...

from a senior at QU to a 2nd semester freshman is quite a big hit to say the least. I personally wouldn't recommend that because you have to retake all those classes, waste more time, and worst of all, spend all that money. Why did your friend decide so late to apply to Stern as a transfer anyway?
