If I were to build a new comp and use my existing raptor with xp home sp2 what would happen? Would I run into a licensing problem? Would I have to reinstall windows so the new mb recognizes it? I have the original installation cd and code, etc.

I've done this many times when a customer's Computer quit for good.
It will boot up OK but you have to install all the MB drivers and card (video, etc.) drivers again. Which just takes about 30 minutes. If you don't have the MB drivers (you should have if it's a new system) then go onto the internet to MB mfg site and download the drivers from there.

If you can't even boot to deal with drivers, sometimes booting the windows CD and doing a repair install will work.

Why not just take the time to do a fresh install? It's highly recommended for a lot of reasons. You can transfer your XP license without much of an issue, even if it's OEM. If online activation fails, just call them, tell them you're fixing a computer and they'll give you a new machine ID and it will activate.
