How do transfer your OS and your user profile from your hard drive to a new larger hard drive?

Ghost or programs like it, is the best way to do it.

If you're using XP Pro, the Automated System Recovery Wizard and Backup works pretty well, too.

You'll need a place to hold the backups, like an external HD, extra internal HD, network folder, etc.

I've moved my same OS from a 20 to a 40 to a 80 to a 160 that way.

If you have XP Home, you can still do it, but you'll have to google to find out how to install the utility from the XP Home CD - it's not native, but it can be installed, last I checked.
