Is there any way that you can transfer files from an IBM machine to an apple Powerbook and the other way? See I'm getting a new notebook and the Powerbook G4 looks great but I want to transfer MP3 and video files between them. Is there anything I could be able to do if not what?s the best looking notebook-running windows that weight in around 5 to 6 pounds. The more powerful the better I was thinking of getting the Dell inspron (I think that?s how you spell it) 4000 if I can't do this on a Mac. I like MAS OS X.

I'd just run a FTP server on the desktop computer whenever I would want to transfer files. Of course the laptop would need a FTP client then. No big deal.

Also, a simple HTTP server would do the trick. Xitami is a pretty good one and free. Get it at downloads.com. Then set it to serve your MP3 folder. Finally access the server through a web browser by typing in the IP address and download any files you need.

Both protocols would work across the two platforms.

zip disk can also do the trick, providing you have zip drives on both. Just leave everything in PC format.

between a Dell inspiron 4000 and a G4 notebook, I would probably choose the Mac🙂
