If you have success let me know - I tried and failed. I moved from a MSI KT133A board to the P4S333 and XP refused to go. Blue screen - serious HW error or something like that. Had to end up reinstalling but I did not lose my other programs only the Windows directory was hosed.

If you want to keep ( not reformating) you can try this

go to Device Manager and try to delete everything in there
do this with your old system.
when you install the new mobo it will reinstalling all the
device in there, hope it will works.

but I believe reformat is the best idea,
just back-up your favorites and your data before.

good luck

I went from a P3 800 on an Asus CUSL2 to a P4 1.6A on an MSI 845 Ultra and I didn't have any problems and have had great stability.

yeah probably Intel to Intel
doesn't make so much trouble
like on Intel - AMD, Vice Versa.
