I Trasfered my entire C: drive (with WIN2K) from a WD ATA66 18GB to a WD ATA100 40GB using Western Digital's EZ copy software. WIN2K starts fine but after I enter my login and password I get a message saying my Virtual Memory file is too small or non-existent. I assume this is becuase the paging file is in a different location on the larger partition and it doesn't recognize it anymore. The message tells me to right-click on my computer and create/change memory settings ect. But after I hit the ok buttun on this message I get booted back out to the login screen. I cannot get to my desktop in order to assign new settings. I tried safe mode and the W2K repair program on the boot disks but nothing works. Any input would be helpful. Thanks

Yes, Sorry, I found these after making this post. Is there a way to get into the registry if I cannot login and I am not connected to a network? I plan to try: FDISK /MBR. If this does not work I see no other way to fix it if I cannot get into the registry. I copied my files from C:\ to a new C:\ on a different drive so the problem listed at this link may not be a correct diagnosis. Is ti the I.D. of a different physical drive that causes this?

Try using Sysprep, we have it here at the college. You install it and reboot, but dont boot into windows. After you restart copy all the files onto the different hard drive. Then let it boot up and it will run through like you did a new install of Win2k but you really didn't. I dont no where it is on Microsofts page or if it is free but it is a pretty nifty program when making 2k images for 20 machines.
