Totally get what your saying in respect to a desktop user but as you should know, they really don't give a sh*t about us desktop users when designing new technolagies like HD's. SATA will have a use in RAID arrays with 50 HD's, 1.5GB/s is still over the top but SCSI is changing it's spec every year to keep up with the demands. If I had to build a server with RAID, I'd be looking closely at SATA's spec's next year.
